Matt & I nearly had a heart attack last month when we received a $170 electric bill. At first thought, there was a mistake. We called AEP and much to our surprise, everything was correct. We took a few minor steps this month in an attempt to reduce our bill while not really limiting our actual usage. Here is what we did:
1). Unplug your computer cords if your computer is not plugged in.
2). Unplug your phone cords when your phones are not plugged in.
3). Open all your windows each morning to cool down your entire house.
4). Open all the (indoor) doors in your house to allow for good air circulation.
5). Place fans in your windows to pull cool air in on fall days.
6). Turn down your fridge temperature. Ours was set MUCH too high.
Many of you probably already practice these energy saving techniques:) We received our electric bill yesterday and nearly cut the bill in half. We only owe $86!! These are just a few easy steps you can take while not really having to limit your usage.
Just some food for thought :) Have a wonderful day!!
